Termite Control
Residential Customers
Whether you’re building a new home, have a current termite problem,
or want to prevent a termite attack, our dedicated team of
professionals has the solution. We’ll provide you with an
evaluation of your property, and show you how our termite treatment
options work to protect your investment.
Commercial Customers
Buildings with steel framing and masonry walls are not immune to
termite attack because of the wooden door, window frames, cabinets,
and shelving within the construction. Structural damage is not the
only issue. Swarming termites are especially problematic in food
processing and medical facilities. Discarded wings and other body
parts can contaminate food, disrupt health care, and hinder
sanitation efforts. A timely termite inspection could save you
thousands of dollars.

Termite Baiting:
Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System
The
Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination
System offers constant termite protection. It’s
environmentally responsible, less disruptive than other treatments,
and provides proven termite colony elimination. So you can stop
termites’ destruction, and prevent it in the future.
The Sentricon System is more than just termite bait. It is a
complete system designed to protect homes from termites by
eliminating the termite colony.
The Property Protection Process provides continuous defense for
long-term protection of homes through ongoing service. This
three-step process begins once the Sentricon System is installed.
-
Monitor
– Gateway Pest Control will routinely examine the stations for
signs of termite activity.
-
Bait
- When termites are discovered, Recruit™ termite bait is placed
in the stations. Termites then feed on it and spread it to their
nestmates.
-
Eliminate
- The active ingredient in Recruit termite bait affects termites
by stopping the molting process they need to grow. As the worker
termites die, the colony declines to the point it can no longer
sustain itself, ultimately leading to its elimination.
Once the attacking colony is eliminated, the process starts over by
monitoring for future invasions. The Sentricon System provides peace
of mind. With the attacking colony eliminated and continuous
monitoring for a new invasion by Gateway Pest Control, property
owners, home builders, realtors and property managers can all rest
assured that a home is protected.

Liquid Treatments:
Termidor® Termite Defense
and Phantom® Termite Control
Once the only way to service termites, newer liquid technology makes
treatments more effective, in shorter time, with less toxicity.
Several products are available. Our treatment of choice is Termidor
and/or Phantom termiticide.
Termidor® Termite Defense
Termidor® Termite Defense is
applied at very low rates. Typically, the active ingredient (fipronil)
is just 0.06% of the solution, a concentration much lower than that
of older liquids and less than most insecticides. For an average
home treatment, only about 8 ounces of the active ingredient is
actually used. Keep in mind, too, that since 1995, fipronil has been
used around the world for flea and tick control on household pets
and on agricultural crops to protect food supplies. And Termidor has
virtually no odor.
Termidor is made from a revolutionary nonrepellent or undetectable
chemical technology treatment. That means termites cannot see,
smell, taste or avoid Termidor. Instead they contact, ingest, and
share it with their nestmates. This is in sharp contrast to older
liquid termite controls, which rely on repellent barriers in which
termites can finds breaks, or avoid completely.
Phantom® Termite Control
Phantom® Termite Control is
one of the best termite controls, and it's your solution. Phantom is
a remarkable termite control product, employing the world's most
advanced termite pest control technology.
In some of the most extensive testing a pest control product has
ever been subjected to, Phantom has consistently proven to provide
superior termite control under almost any condition. And, Phantom is
proving to be highly impressive at keeping termites from coming
back. Long-term field trials by the U.S. Department of Agriculture
Forest Service showed no signs of reinfestation at over 98% of study
sites seven years after treatment by Phantom
Termite Monitoring:
Halo™ Electronic Termite Detection
Halo™ Electronic Termite Detection
You can’t see inside your walls and floor to discover termite
damage. You can’t hear a termite colony growing under your feet. But
with a little electronic sleuthing and the expertise of Gateway Pest
Control pest management professional, you can know if termites are
foraging on your property.
Halo™ Electronic Termite Detection
makes it possible.
Halo™ Detection confirms the presence of termites before your pest
management professional moves to control them. Termite damage can be
extremely costly, so it’s a good idea to learn if they’re feeding
just outside your walls.
Halo Detection gives you visible proof that termites are active on
your property before you invest in a treatment. This proactive
approach gives you time to think about your treatment options. If no
termites are found, you’ve still gained something valuable – peace
of mind. Continue the monitoring to stay up to date on termite
status.
Accurate, reliable and proven.
With its unique electronic technology, Halo Detection has shown in
field trials to accurately detect termites. While it does not
attract termites, you can count on Halo Detection to signal when
termites are present in a monitoring station.
Halo Detection is manufactured by Dow AgroSciences, a leader in
termite solutions, and provided by pest management professionals
skilled in termite monitoring and control.
Sensitive to the environment.
Why inject chemicals into the ground when you don’t yet know if you
have termites? Halo Detection is a pesticide-free way to determine
if there is termite activity on your property. Halo Detection
contains no pesticide and offers no protection from termites.
Real Estate Inspections
Real estate inspections for wood destroying insects provide
reasonable assurance that the property being bought or sold is not
currently infested or damaged by termites or other insects, such as
carpenter ants, carpenter bees, or powder post beetles. We will
inspect and describe any evidence in our report to you.
Each year thousands of homes are attacked by termites or other wood
destroying insects. Homebuyers need to know if these insects are
present before investing their money. It is wise to have the
property inspected by a licensed pest control company who can detect
the presence of wood destroying insects.
If you're a commercial property owner or manager, consider a termite
inspection at your facility. An inspection by one of our termite
specialists is the first and most important step in protecting your
property. Experienced inspectors are more likely to find termites.
Early detection and control of termites is a job for the
professional.
If you are buying or selling property, call Gateway Pest Control
today and schedule a wood-destroying insect inspection.
